A woman was electrocuted by an electric wire set up to chase away monkeys in Musikot Municipality-7, Paltar, Gulmi.
The deceased has been identified as Chandrakala Kumal, 60.
According to Superintendent of Police Rajan Bhujel, Kumal was electrocuted while working in her field, where her husband, Karnabahadur, had installed the electric wire to keep monkeys away.
She was rushed to Lumbini Wami Hospital in Musikot, where doctors declared her dead.
A team led by Police Inspector Rajkumar Thapa has been deployed from the District Police Office, Gulmi, for further investigation.
