Arghakhanchi
At least four people died, and six others were injured in a bus accident at Bhuwanpata in ward 2 of Shitaganga Municipality in Arghakhanchi district on Wednesday. Three women and a man died in the accident, said police.
Police Inspector Bishnu Prasad Poudel confirmed the deaths. The bus was travelling from Arghakhanchi to Bardaghat of Nawalparasi before it veered off the road and plunged approximately 200 metres down a slope at Bhuwanpata.
Seven injured passengers were initially treated at a primary health centre in Thada and later referred to hospitals in Butwal for further care. Police estimated that a brake failure might have caused the accident.
