Father, son killed in tipper hit

Police detained tipper driver Khagendra Thami of Maijogmai Rural Municipality-2, Ilam, for investigation.

An elderly man and his son were killed when a tipper truck hit a motorcycle at Haspokhari of Rong Rural Municipality-3, in Ilam district on Friday evening.

Police said Pawan Kumar Rai, aged 70, and his son Dirgharaj Rai, aged 40, of Suryodaya Municipality-6 died in the incident.

The critically injured duo were rushed to Birtamod-based B&C Hospital in Jhapa where they died in the course of treatment on Saturday. The deceased were heading to Ilam from Jhapa when the incident happened.

Police detained tipper driver Khagendra Thami of Maijogmai Rural Municipality-2, Ilam, for investigation.
