Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak met with Arnaud Cauchois, the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) country director for Nepal, to discuss ongoing and future collaborations on infrastructure and regional development projects.
During the meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Lekhak lauded ADB’s contribution to Nepal’s infrastructure development and sought further support in upgrading key projects. The discussions included the modernisation of the Gaddachauki-Kohalpur segment of the East-West Highway, the construction of the Mahakali Corridor for trade enhancement, and improvements to the Godawari-Dadeldhura Road in Kailali.
Minister Lekhak also urged ADB to assist in developing a model dry port at Dodhara Chandani, integrating surrounding infrastructure for trade facilitation, and furthering Sudurpashchim’s modernisation initiatives, including urban development and religious tourism infrastructure.
The home minister emphasised implementing ADB’s survey report on Sudurpashchim’s tourism development from last year. In response, Cauchois assured that the ADB would discuss these matters with its higher authorities and provide necessary support.
