Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has called a meeting on Thursday with the ministers and ministers of state from his party in the KP Sharma Oli-led Cabinet.

The discussion, to be held at his residence in Budhanilkantha, aims to facilitate discussions between the parliamentary party’s executive committee and the ministers, according to Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.

“This is a preparatory meeting ahead of the parliamentary session. Ministers will update on their ongoing work,” Lekhak said.

An office-bearer said there would also be a discussion on concerns raised within the party regarding the performance of some Congress ministers.

“Some ministers have repeatedly courted controversies. It has not only tarnished the image of the ministers concerned but has also caused damage to the party,” the office-bearer said. “We will have a serious discussion on this matter as well.”
