The World Book of Records, London has awarded Nepali entrepreneur Komal Prasad Mainali for his contribution in promoting the “causes of international business and entrepreneurial ethics to boost economy”.
Mainali, who is the managing director of the Kathmandu-based Mainali Business Concern, received the certificate of appreciation in recognition of his contribution to enhance international business and help create multiplier economic effects at home and help people realise their lifestyle choice in an affordable way.
“It is an honour to be recognised by such a prestigious institution,” Mainali said. “It will definitely boost my morale and will be a stepping stone for the growth of the company in this difficult situation when the country’s economy is facing headwinds.”
Established in 2009, Mainali’s company works in supplying tile, sanitary ware and kitchen products from Europe, the United Arab Emirates and India. “Supplying products like commode, urinal, kitchen items and others on our own brand MBC or manufacturer’s brand would provide customers with multiple choices,” said Mainali.
Mainali added that they have plans to install manufacturing factories of items that are not produced in Nepal on the basis of consumption habits. “We are planning to set up a factory in Nepal itself in future to produce items like stainless steel kitchen sink and others,” he said. “However, it all depends upon the economic situation of the country.”
Mainali added that while every business sector in the country is facing difficulties, the construction-related business is in a particularly precarious situation. “The sales and import of construction business is diminishing,” he said. “But I am optimistic that the situation will change in the near future.”
