Kathmandu Convection 2024 held

The Goodwill Cooperation Service (GCS) hosted the Kathmandu Convection 2024 on Friday, bringing together noted figures of the sports fraternity to celebrate the organisation’s global efforts.
Chungwon Choue, president of GCS International, who is also the president of the World Taekwondo Federation, discussed the organisation’s wide-reaching activities and expressed his joy over Nepal’s historic bronze medal in Taekwondo at the Paris Paralympics. He congratulated Nepal and wished for even greater success in future Olympic Games, applauding the growing popularity of Taekwondo in the country.
South Korean Ambassador to Nepal Park Tae-Young praised both the success of the conference and the social initiatives led by GCS, noting the positive impact on various communities.
Minister for Youth and Sports Tejulal Chaudhary acknowledged GCS’s contributions in Nepal and globally, expressing his commitment to support Taekwondo’s recognition as Nepal’s national sport. He also expressed his desire for the sport’s continued growth and success.
Prakash Shumsher Rana, president of the GCS Nepal chapter, expressed gratitude for hosting the event in Nepal. He highlighted that the conference would play a pivotal role in social welfare and the further development of Taekwondo in Nepal.
The organisation said that GCS International has been instrumental in providing relief in sectors such as education and health since its inception and during disasters.
