Kathmandu

Turkey has implemented a new requirement for Nepali passport holders travelling to Mexico, Panama, Colombia, and Venezuela via Turkey.

As per the rule, they must obtain an electronic airport transit visa if they are transiting via the Istanbul Airport.

The Embassy of Turkey in New Delhi has announced that the same rule will apply to Indian passport holders as well.

Nepali and Indian passport holders, who are subject to this requirement, can obtain their visa free of charge from the website www.evisa.gov.tr.

They should carry a print-out of their visas during their travel, as they will be checked by the respective airlines or service providers at the departure airports, as well as by Turkish authorities upon arrival at Istanbul Airport, the embassy said.
