Litterateur Prakat Pangeni dies

Litterateur and composer Prakat Pangeni alias Shiva passed away on Tuesday. He was 70.
Pangeni breathed his last at the Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara while undergoing treatment for jaundice and pneumonia.
Upendra Paudel, chair of Pokhreli Youth Cultural Family, said Pangeni was on ventilator life support. The organisation had initiated a fundraising campaign to assist with his treatment.
Some of his notable literary works include ‘Akshar Bhari Akshata’, ‘Yo Man Katai Aljheko Chha’, ‘Joonko Chithi Junaalai’, and ‘Pranayavedaka Richharu’, with his ghazals being among the most popular creations.
His funeral will be held in Pokhara today, said Poudel.
Pangeni, a permanent resident of Rupa Rural Municipality-5 in Kaski district, is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.
