Police, pro-monarchy protesters clash in Kathmandu
Security personnel use water cannons and fire tear gas shells to vacate demonstrators from restricted zone.

The Rastriya Prajatantra Party staged a protest in Kathmandu, calling for the addressing of its 40-point demands. The demands include the reinstatement of monarchy and a Hindu state, as well as the scrapping of federalism.
A clash broke out between the demonstrators and security personnel at Bhadrakali after protesters attempted to march toward the restricted zone. Police used water cannons and fired tear gas shells to vacate the protesters from the area.
The party said some of its cadres sustained injuries during the police action.
Traffic in the Valley has been thrown into chaos due to the protest.
