Announces a campaign to establish a ‘multi-nation state’.Post Report
Senior leader of the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party Rajendra Mahato on Monday quit the party and announced a new front.
Holding a press conference in Kathmandu, Mahato said he left the party and added he would launch a campaign to establish a ‘multi-nation state’.
Mahato is also conducting an orientation programme under the banner of ‘National Liberation Revolution’ aimed at establishing a ‘multi-nation state’. The programme will run for three days.
“The identity movement that started four decades ago fell victim to the government’s conspiracy and remained incomplete. That’s why the oppressed people could not attain political achievements and the country couldn’t progress,” he said.
“Now it’s high that all the oppressed and all those who want good governance and prosperity in the country should unite and build a ‘multi-nation state’.”
One of the influential leaders in Madhesh province, Mahato became minister multiple times in various coalition governments in recent years.
Mahato, who was initially active as a Sadbhabana Party leader, joined Tarai-Madhesh Loktantrik Party in 2007. He is in national politics for over two decades as lawmaker, minister and a key party leader in Madhesh-based parties.
