Police have arrested Dharmendra Bastola, spokesperson of the Revolutionary Communist Party, after a man died in Dang after being hit by a jeep he was driving.
A 29-year-old man of Rapti Rural Municipality of Dang died after a motorcycle he was riding was hit by the jeep heading to Surkhet from Kathmandu at the rural municipality at around 9:45pm on Thursday.
According to Superintendent of Police Ram Bahadur KC, who is also Dang police chief, the man was seriously injured in the accident and later died while undergoing treatment at a Lamahi-based hospital.
KC said Bastola is under the custody of Bhalubang Area Police Office, adding he will be charged as per the offence of death caused by a vehicle.
