Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha admitted to hospital in Beijing
Shrestha was rushed to a medical institute after experiencing blood stoppage in his heart early on Thursday.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha was admitted to a Beijing-based hospital after experiencing sudden chest pain.
Shrestha, who travelled to the Chinese capital to participate in the third Belt and Road Forum (BRF), was rushed to the “Dedicated” International Medical Service, a medical institute exclusively for the BRF participants, at around 1am on Thursday.
According to the Nepali Embassy in Beijing, the minister had experienced a cardiac arrest. A stent has been placed in Shrestha’s heart, who is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He will be transferred to the VIP section in a few days.
Shrestha’s health condition is under control, Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, Nepal’s envoy to China, told the Post.
The deputy prime minister was scheduled to hold talks with the Chinese Minister for Emergency Management, Head of the Chinese Communist Party’s International Liaison Department Liu Jianchao, and other officials at 10am on Thursday. The meetings have been deferred.
He left for Beijing on Monday.
