Samik Badal has been elected the new chairman of All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU).
Badal received 962 votes to defeat his closest competitor RC Lamichhane, who garnered 356 votes.
Mahesh Rokaya was elected as the General Secretary during the UML student wing’s 23rd general convention held on Thursday.
Likewise, Govinda Giri, Dharma Giri, Narayan Gharti, and Maryada Bista were appointed the student wing’s vice-chairs.
Similarly, Sanjiv Dhital, Sujan Kadariya, Prakash Paudel, Dipesh Prasai, Anjana Siwakoti, Aarati Bhattarai, and Binita Kafle were elected the student union’s secretaries.
Sangam Aryal has been elected as ANNFSU’s new treasurer.
A total of 1,517 votes were cast during the polls.
