Rastriya Prajatantra Party chair Rajendra Prasad Lingden is leading in Jhapa-3 as per the initial vote count results. He has garnered 227 votes in the constituency as of 1:15pm.
Lingden is closely followed by Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula with 213 votes.
Lingden, who was elected from the same constituency in the House of Representatives elections in 2017, is backed by CPN-UML, while Sitaula is a common candidate of the Congress-led alliance.
