The Supreme Court has asked its administration to clarify why it refused to register two writ petitions against CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
A single bench of Acting Chief Justice Hari Krishna Karki, on Monday, decided to seek a report on why the Supreme Court administration had to refuse to register the writ petitions filed by advocates Gyanendra Aaran and Kalyan Budhathoki.
“Today, the Supreme Court has ordered its administration to give clarification for not registering our petitions,” said advocate Aaran. “Probably the hearing will be held after the polls.”
The Supreme Court administration had refused to register both petitions on Thursday stating that the cases related to the conflict period fall under the jurisdiction of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the petitioners had already registered their cases at the Commission.
Petitioner Aaran said he had filed a petition along with the relatives of other 17 victims, who were killed by the Maoists during the insurgency. The other petitioner Kalyan Budhathoki had filed a writ along with six other victims of the Maoist insurgency.

“The hearing on the petitions will begin once the Supreme Court administration furnishes the report,” said Bimal Poudel, spokesperson of the Supreme Court.
