A Nepali migrant worker has gone missing from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia for the last one week. According to the Embassy of Nepal in Malaysia, Lalu Mahato, 25, of Bateshwor Rural Municipality-3 in Dhanusha district, who had gone to Malaysia for work three years ago, has been missing since February 15. Other Nepali migrant workers who had been working with Mahato had handed him over to the
Nepali embassy in Kuala Lumpur after he showed signs of mental illness. Rabin Bhatta, an employee at the Nepali embassy, said they have requested the Malaysian police to search for Mahato. According to the embassy, Mahato’s visa had expired a month ago. (PR)
