Biratchowk area of Sundar Haraicha Municipality in Morang district remained tense on Monday after an 11-year-old girl died in a truck hit. Laxmi Dhakal of Sundar Haraicha-9 died after she got struck by a tipper truck (Na 33 Kha 3355). 

Following the incident, irate locals torched seven tippers including the one that was involved in the accident. Locals also obstructed the fire engines from containing the fire. The local administration issued a prohibitory order in the area after security personnel could not take the situation under control. 

However, locals defied the prohibitory order and staged demonstrations by laying 

the child’s body on the road. The local administration lifted the prohibitory order 

in the evening after the bereaved family, police and people’s representatives reached a four-point agreement.
