A murder suspect got injured after police shot fire at him at Khata in Madhuban Municipality-3, Bardiya, on Wednesday.
A team led by Police Inspector Bhagat Singh of Banke Police opened fire at Yubaraj Giri of Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality-2 when he tried to flee from the area. Giri sustained a gunshot wound on his left leg.
He has been taken to Teaching Hospital in Kohalpur for treatment.
Superintendent of Police Paudel said that Giri and Bharat Shahi of Hirma Rural Municipality-6 in Achham district had strangled Dipak Singh of Simta Rural Municipality-4 to death at Kohalpur bus park in Banke on January 11.
Giri had been at large after the incident. Police had already arrested Shahi.
