A person died and several others injured when a passenger bus plunged into Seti River river along Buddhasingh Marga in Sude, Tanahun district on Friday. The passenger bus (Ga 1 Kha 3701) was heading for Damauli from Saranghat.

Dan Bahadur Thakuri, 55, of Devghat Rural Municipality-2, was rushed to Damauli-based district hospital where he died during the course of treatment, police said.

Three passengers have been seriously injured in the accident. According to District Police Office Tanahun, Anisha Ale, 28, of Shuklagandaki-10, Tanahun, Narabahadur Rokka, 30, and Chundamani Gharti, 16, of Salyan Tribeni, have been seriously wounded. They have been referred to Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara for further treatment.

Five of the passengers have returned home after treatment.
