The Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided to pick Kandel, who is also the Chairman of the CPN-UML Central Accounting Commission, to head the apex government advisory body for formulating national development plans and policies.
The meeting has also appointed Krishna Prasad Oli, Usha Jha, Dil Kumar Gurung, Sushil Bhatta, Min Bahadur Shahi and Ram Kumar Phuyal as the members of the NPC.
The meeting held at PM's official residence in Baluwatar, Kathmandu this afternoon has decided to recommend the ordinances related to Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP), National Assembly election, Health Profession Education (HPE) to President Bidya Devi Bhandari for approval.
Similarly, the meeting has decided to approve the directive prepared to manage foreign visit of high level officials and also decided to present the bill related to amend the Social Security Act 2046 BS to the Parliament.
Likewise, the government has decided to not allow strikes in essential services for public welfare and a decision has also been made to publish information regarding this provision in the Nepal Gazette, spokesperson and Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota said.
