The Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs (FNNTE) has announced stir against the government’s decision to scrap the syndicate system.
The Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs (FNNTE) has announced stir against the government’s decision to scrap the syndicate system.
Organising a press conference in the Capital on Wednesday, the FNNTE made public its protest programmes starting from May 4. As part of its phase-wise protest programme, the FNNTE has decided to enforce indefinite transport strike on May 10.
The transport entrepreneurs have expressed their dissatisfaction over the government decision to not renew registration of associations/committees of transport entrepreneurs with immediate effect.
The government has made it mandatory to meet the requirements as specified in the Company and Cooperative Acts in order to register a new association related to transportation.
A Cabinet meeting on Tuesday took a decision to this effect after transport entrepreneurs decided to take to the streets against the government’s move of opening route permits on all roads across the country for competitive distribution by amending the Transport Management Directives-2004.
The government had also revoked the system of renewing vehicles from the District Administration Office.
