Ncell towers in Rolpa, Nuwakot and Chitwan vandalised

Although the culprits are not known, have police suspected the involvement of Netra Birkam Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal cadres as they have been staging protests against the private telecommunication service provider.
Likewise, Ncell tower at Gerkhu of Bidur Municipality-11 in Nuwakot district has been torched by unidentified persons yesterday night.
An unknown group set the tower on fire sprinkling petrol and jute sacks around 12 last night at Dandagaon, Gerlhu, Chief of the Nuwakot District Police Office, Basanta Kunwar, said.
The Ncell telephone connection via the tower is cut off following the incident. The call-connection equipment, battery, UPS and other devices installed with the tower have been damaged.
According to the Ncell\'s district based technicians, equipment worth Rs 1.5 million has been damaged.
Meanwhile, another IED, cooker bomb, was detonated targeting the Ncell tower and equipment at Bachchhyuli, Ratnanagar Municipality -6 in eastern Chitwan last night.
The IED went off at around 12 midnight on Monday, Chief of Ratnanagar Area Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Basudev Khatiwada, said. DSP Khatiwada said although the Ncell equipment was damaged due to the blast, the tower was not damaged.
