Employees deputed to conduct the elections are facing problems reaching remote villages of Jajarkot district in the absence of road link.
They are complaining of difficulty in reaching the assigned areas within the given time with the required logistics.
According to the office of the chief election officer, the employees have been mobilised to reach the polling centres to conduct the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections.
It takes three days on foot to reach Junichande and Barekot rural municipalities from the district headquarters.
The office started deputing employees on Monday to the polling centres in remote areas. A total of 1,000 officials would be deployed in the district for the polls.
Chief Election Officer Dev Kumar Giri said employees have been deputed to more than 100 polling centres as of Wednesday. All the officials would reach the polling centres by Thursday evening, he added. Eighty-five polling centres and 116 polling stations have been fixed in the district.
Since the district is sensitive from the security perspective, appropriate arrangements have been made to allow for people to participate freely in the elections, said Chief District Officer Pushparaj Shahi.
More than 40 polling centres have no easy access to communication.
Employees deputed at the Mulsam polling centre in Barekot rural municipality said this has created problems in exchanging information.
Wards 10, 11, 12 and 13 of Nalgad municipality also lack the means of telecommunication.
