A former Nepal Police Constable died after a jeep hit a bike he was riding on at Ramtar in Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-5 of Sindhuli along the BP Highway on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Ram Krishna Shrestha, 40, of the same area.
The jeep (Ba 24 Cha 2493) heading towards Sindhuli from Kathmandu hit the two-wheeler (Ba 35 Pa 9322) this afternoon.
Shrestha, who was critically injured in the incident, breathed his last during the course of treatment at a local hospital, police said.
Following the incident, irate local obstructed the highway.
Police said that they are searching for the jeep driver who fled the scene after the incident.
