Cadres of recently merged Bibeksel Sajha Party on Wednesday staged a demonstration outside Singhadurbar demanding resignation of Tribhuvan University Vice-Chancellor Tirtha Khaniya for providing affiliation to Kathmandu National Medical College.
The party has accused Khaniya of giving affiliation to the Kathmandu National Medical College by making false reports and breaching the agreement signed by the government with Dr Govinda KC.
At the programme, party leader Shashi Bikram Karki said that the affiliation provided to the National Medical College was illegal.
“The affiliation should be scrapped at the earliest,” he said, “The affiliation should be provided based on the recommendation of the Dr Kedar Bhakta Mathema-led committee.”
