Major air crashes in NepalFebruary 16, 2014: Nepal Airlines Twin Otter crash in Masinelek, Argakhanchi, killing 18 people.
May 14, 2012: At least 15 people die when an Agni Air plane carrying Indian pilgrims crashes near the treacherous high-altitude airport of Jomsom in northern Nepal, while six make a miraculous escape.
September 28, 2012: A Sita Air plane flying 19 people towards Mount Everest comes down in flames on the bank of Manhora River in Kathmandu, killing all on board.
September 25, 2011: A Buddha Air plane taking tourists on a sightseeing trip around Mount Everest crashes into a hillside near Kathmandu, killing all 19 people on board.
October 18, 2011: All six people on board die when a military plane crashes in a hunting reserve after taking off from Nepalgunj city in south-western Nepal. The plane was transporting a critically ill soldier back to Kathmandu.
August 24, 2010: A small Agni Air plane crashes in bad weather near Kathmandu, killing all 14 people on board including four Americans, a Japanese and a British national.
December 15, 2010: A Tara Air chartered flight crashed on the eastern face of Manedanda, Shreechaur-9, in Okhaldhunga district en route to Tribhuvan International Airport from Lamidanda Airfield, killing 22 passengers, including three crew members, on board
July 27, 2000: Nepal Airlines Twin Otter, on a flight from Bajhang to Dhangadhi, collided with trees on the 4,300 feet Jarayakhali hill on the Churia mountain range before catching fire. All 3 crew and 22 passengers were killed.
July 31, 1992: An A310-304 aircraft of Thai Airways International from Bangkok crashed on approach to TIA, killing all 113 on board.
September 28, 1992: An Airbus A300B4-203 belonging to Pakistan International Airlines crashed on approach to TIA. All 167 on board were killed.
June 9, 1991: Nepal Airlines Twin Otter, after a flight from Kathmandu, crashed on landing at Lukla Airport following an unstabilized approach in bad weather. All three crew and 14 passengers were killed.
December 22, 1984: Nepal Airlines Twin Otter crashed off course near Bhojpur, Nepal. All three crew were killed as well as 12 of the 20 passengers
July 12, 1969: Nepal Airlines Douglas DC-3D collided with a tree while flying over a cloud covered ridge at 7,300 feet at Hetauda, Nepal. All four crew and 31 passengers were killed
