Govt forms Medical Education Commission

A Cabinet meeting on Friday formed the commission that will have Dr Bhagwan Koirala as its vice chairman.
The commission was formed three days before the scheduled fast-unto-death announced by Dr KC to press his demands.
One of the secretaries or joint secretaries from the Ministry of Education and Health, dean of Patan Health Science Academy, and chairpersons of Medical Council and Nursing Council have been named as members of the commission.
Likewise, other members of the commission include Dr Jagdish Agrawal, Dr Arjun Karki, Dr Shree Krisna Giri, Dr Suresh Kanaudiya. Kanaudiya is also the chairman of private medical association.
Education Minister Giriraj Mani Pokharel said the commission was formed according to Mathema Committee Report on Health Profession Education Policy and the agreement reached with Dr KC.
