DPHO mobilises medical team
The District Public Health Office (DPHO) on Wednesday confirmed that seven of the total 36 ailing children at Somdiha-8 in the district were suffering from measles.The District Public Health Office (DPHO) on Wednesday confirmed that seven of the total 36 ailing children at Somdiha-8 in the district were suffering from measles.
A team of 11 health workers led by Dr Gopal Kadel of Taulihawa Hospital reached the village and provided treatment to the children.
Local residents said they were happy to see the team in the village provide medical care and distribute medicines to the ailing kids. Bishnu Jaishawal, officiating chief at the DPHO, said the disease has gradually come under control after health workers provided treatment to 110 children in the past three days.
Local Bimalawati Raidas expressed hope that the children will recover soon. Six children died in the past two weeks and 50 others have been suffering from a disease that resembles measles at Somdiha-7 and 8 in the district. The kids have showed symptoms like fever, diarrhoea and skin infections.
