Visually-impaired get clothes as four chip in

Visually-impaired students at Shodashadevi Higher Secondary School in Mangalsen have got help two months after The Kathmandu Post published a report about them.
Four individuals from Kathmandu provided a total of Rs43,000 to the helpless to buy new clothes that they had wanted to wear during the recent Dashain.
Mahesh Agrawal donated Rs16,000, Ashok Kumar Agrawal of Bishal Group chipped in Rs10,000, Sahana Sigdel provided Rs7,000 and Rajat Pradhananga contributed Rs10,000 to the aid of the needy. The school handed over new clothes, shoes with other goods bought with the cash to them. The school would deposit the remaining amount in the students’ bank accounts.
The Post carried a story about 12-year-old Laxmi Thapa of Basti VDC and Bahadur Saud, 18, of Bhatakatiya-4, both visually-impaired students.
At the school’s annual parents’ day function on Friday, District Education Officer Suresh Kumar Joshi handed the goods over to them.
