The District Court, Ilam on Sunday slapped separate sentences to two teenagers from Ibhang-3 for raping a nine year old girl.

A bench led by Justice Navaraj Dahal sentenced a 14-year-old boy who was arrested on June 21 for the rape committed on May 31.

The boy was convicted as per the Rape Act 13 (1) of the Muluki Ain or Penal Code and sentenced to three months in prison and ordered to pay Rs 5000 to the victim as per Section 11 (2) of the Children's Act, 2048, said Court's Registrar Jagadishwar Bhattarai.

Another boy of 12 years also accused for the same crime was sentenced to 15 days in prison as per the same regulation in the Muluki Ain. Meanwhile, the court acquitted a third boy of 13 years who was also accused in the crime. The boys who were convicted were earlier kept at the child rehab for investigation.
