CPN-Maoist Chairman Baidya, Chinese ambassador Chuntai hold meeting
A meeting has taken place between CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya and Chinese ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai.A meeting has taken place between CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya and Chinese ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai.
During the meeting held at CPN-Maoist Central Office at Budhanagar on Tuesday, the two touched on contemporary politics, China-Nepal relations and relations between the two parties, said CPN-Maoist Secretary Dev Gurung.
On the occasion, ambassador Chuntai expressed belief that the political parties in Nepal are capable of resolving the prevailing political misunderstanding.
Ambassador Chuntai also showed concern towards the undeclared blockade imposed by Indian government and the efforts at unity between UCPN (Maoist) and CPN-Maoist.
Chairman Baidya appealed to the Chinese envoy for support in opening the Tatopani and Rasuwagadhi customs point along Nepal-China border which has remained blocked since the massive earthquake struck on April 256.
Baidya further said current unease was a result of the failure to promulgate the new constitution with understanding between the parties inside and outside of the Constituent Assembly.
