Danish Crown Prince Frederik André Henrik returned to Kathmandu after visiting earthquake-hit villages in Lamjung. He is scheduled to return to Denmark on Monday.
During a four-day Nepal visit, the Prince’s team visited the quake ravaged areas of the district. District Officer Shrawan Kumar Timilsina said they requested Prince Henrik to visit Nepal again and help disseminate positive message about tourism in the country. “We requested him to continue financial assistance and rapport,” Timilsina said, adding that such visit will strengthen relations between the two countries.
Likewise, Danish Red Cross General Secretary Andrus Landkarl said they will also provide financial help to Nepal in the coming days as the ongoing projects were transparent and efficient.
Eighty-year-old Manamaya Ghale of Tallopachoki at Pachok-7 said she gifted a khukuri to the Danish Prince. People in Pachok and Barigaun also gifted several local items to the Prince.
It is the first visit of Prince Henrik to Nepal. His visit was planned by Danish Embassy in Kathmandu and the International Red Cross. During his stay in Lamjung, Henrik took stock of the damages caused by the April 25 earthquake in Pachol, Dhodeni and Pheleni VDCs and met affected families.
