The Nepal Railway Company, Janakpur, said the service was halted since January 20 after a Janakpur bound train from Jaynagar of India witnessed technical problems in its gearbox.
Acting General Manager of Company Ramchandra Saha said that maintenance of the gearbox was not carried out, as he has no right to handle financial transactions.
Officials at the Company said the railway service was halted in lack of money even after minor problems as General Manager of the Company Rameshwor Yadav and Acting Administrative Officer Tula Bahadur Dangi were residing in Kathmandu for long.
Nearly 2000 passengers have been affected daily while revenue collection at the Customs Office has reduced with low import of goods from India.
