Post Report
The Film Development Board has issued a tender for building an indoor shooting studio in Banepa Municipality Ward 10 and 13. Interested companies are encouraged to submit their applications through e-bidding within the next 30 days.
Board Chairperson Dinesh DC mentioned that this studio is anticipated to be Nepal’s largest indoor shooting venue. While private studios exist, the film industry has not had its dedicated facility until now. This project aims to offer the domestic film sector a modern and convenient environment for shooting.
The studio will occupy an estimated 5.28-acre plot in Banepa. Although this plan has been in the works for several years, it has only recently started to take shape. DC indicated that the foundation stone for the studio will be laid within the next two months.
“The initiatives I began upon becoming Chairman are finally materialising. Besides the studio, we are also set to unveil a new film policy soon,” DC remarked. He added that the ‘Real-Time Box Office’ system will commence on Baisakh 1, 2082 (April 14, 2025).
