England cricketer Jos Buttler has been appointed international brand ambassador for Anchor Oral Care in Nepal, marking the company’s first partnership with an international sportsperson in the country.
Anchor Consumer Products, which owns the oral care brand, said the partnership was part of its efforts to expand its presence in Nepal and strengthen its connection with local consumers.
Buttler, a former England captain and a key figure in the country’s 2019 Cricket World Cup-winning campaign, will join Nepali actor Subeksha Khadka, who already represents the brand in Nepal.
The company has signed Buttler to a multi-year partnership covering the United Kingdom, India, Nepal and the Middle East.
“Jos Buttler brings global stature and sporting excellence to Anchor Oral Care, complementing the strong local equity we have built with Subeksha Khadka,” Karan Shah, director of Anchor Consumer Products, said in a statement. “Nepal is an important market for Anchor’s international growth, and we are focused on strengthening awareness, visibility and engagement with our consumers here.”
Buttler said he was pleased to partner with a brand that emphasises trust and quality, adding that he hoped to support its efforts to promote oral hygiene across Nepal.
Anchor Consumer Products has operated in Nepal for more than a decade, selling toothpaste and toothbrushes alongside personal care and home and hygiene products. Its toothpaste range includes white, gel, herbal, sensitive and children’s variants.
The company said its products were available across Nepal through general and modern trade outlets.
