Jagdamba Motors to launch Proton e.MAS 5 electric SUV in Nepal

Jagdamba Motors Pvt Ltd., the authorised distributor of Proton vehicles in Nepal, is set to introduce the Proton e.MAS 5, which the company says will be the country’s first rear-wheel-drive electric compact SUV in its segment.
The company said the launch comes as demand for electric vehicles continues to grow in Nepal, where EVs have gained an increasing share of the passenger vehicle market in recent years.
Built on a dedicated rear-wheel-drive platform, the Proton e.MAS 5 is designed to offer balanced weight distribution, improved handling and stability. According to the company, these features are intended to suit a range of driving conditions, including urban roads, highways and hilly terrain.
Jagdamba Motors, part of the Shanker Group, said the launch forms part of its efforts to expand its electric vehicle portfolio in Nepal. The company said it will continue to strengthen its nationwide sales and service network and invest in after-sales support as demand for EVs grows.
