Buddha Air relaunches Royal Club as fully digital loyalty programme
Under the new system, passengers can accumulate mileage points from flights and redeem them as discounts on future bookings.Post Report
Buddha Air has relaunched its Royal Club frequent flyer programme in a fully digital format to expand customer benefits.
The airline, which has operated the programme for over a decade, said that starting April 12, mileage points have been available on all tickets. Previously, the scheme was limited to higher fare or refundable tickets.
Under the new system, passengers can accumulate mileage points from flights and redeem them as discounts on future bookings.
For example, a passenger flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara earns up to 112 mileage points, equivalent to a discount of up to Rs112 on the next ticket, said Rupesh Joshi, sales and marketing director of Buddha Air.
Passengers can also accumulate points to redeem full tickets, subject to a validity period.
As the system is now fully digital, travellers no longer need a physical Royal Club card. Tickets can be booked using accumulated points through Buddha Air’s mobile app or website, a facility previously limited to sales counters or airport desks.
The airline has urged passengers to provide their Royal Club number when booking through any platform or travel agency.
Buddha Air said it plans to expand the programme by offering discounts through partner businesses such as supermarkets, grocery stores, hotels, resorts and gift shops, and has invited organisations to collaborate.
