Nepse hits eight months high
Index extends gains for fifth straight day, adding 161.55 points overall despite turnover decline.Post Report
The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index increased by 23.83 points (0.81 percent) on Tuesday, the third trading day of the week, to settle at 2960.40 points. However, total turnover declined to Rs 14.83 billion from Rs 15.78 billion in the previous session, when the benchmark index closed at 2936.56 points.

Tuesday's close marks the highest level in eight months, since the market stood at 2922.63 points on July 31, 2025.
The market continued to surge for the fifth consecutive day, advancing by 161.55 points (5.65 percent) over the period.
During Tuesday's session, the pre-open recorded a gain of 6.90 points. The market remained volatile until around 2:15 pm, when buying pressure pushed the market higher.
The index opened at 2943.47 points, touching an intraday high of 2960.40 and a low of 2928.34. A total of 3,58,22,191 shares of 341 companies were traded through 126,947 transactions.
Market capitalisation stood at Rs 50.18 billion with free float capitalisation at Rs 17.06 billion.

Of the 13 sub-indices, eight advanced while five declined. The trading sub-index led the gainers with a 9.12 percent rise, while microfinance fell the most by 0.45 percent.
Other gainers included development bank (1.38 percent), hydropower (1.32 percent), manufacturing and processing (0.86 percent), banking (0.67 percent), finance (0.51 percent), mutual fund (0.25 percent), and investment (0.11 percent).
Among the losers, non-life insurance declined by 0.38 percent, life insurance by 0.37 percent, hotel and tourism by 0.16 percent, and others by 0.16 percent.

Radhi Bidyut Company Limited (RADHI) led turnover with over Rs 670 million, closing at Rs 905.

Two stocks— Salapa Bikas Bank Limited (SABBL) and Reliance Spinning Mills Limited (RSML)—hit the upper circuit, gaining 10 percent each to close at Rs 1848.10 and Rs 1663.80, respectively.

First Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited posted the biggest loss, falling 6.56 percent to close at Rs 909.20.
