Prakriti Resort and Organic Farm has earned the prestigious Travelife Certification for its contribution to sustainable tourism. The recognition comes from Travelife, a global accommodation sustainability certification body.
Located in Haibung-3, Melamchi Municipality, Sindhupalchok, the resort was awarded for its eco-friendly infrastructure, organic farming practices, zero-waste management, and community inclusion.
Arun Shrestha, managing director of the resort, said the certification followed the successful fulfilment of 143 criteria based on the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) standards and the UNWTO’s Sustainable Development Goals.
“This milestone belongs not just to our resort—it belongs to every guest, partner, farmer, and community member who believes in the power of tourism to uplift, heal, and inspire,” Shrestha said, adding that the achievement reflects the resort’s long-standing commitment to responsible hospitality, environmental stewardship, and community empowerment.
