Nepse drops over 63 points as downward trend persists
Only 16 companies gain as 233 see price declines..

The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) continued its downward trajectory on Sunday, falling by 63.73 points to close at 2,858.90, marking a 2.18 percent drop—the sharpest single-day fall in recent sessions.
This follows a similar trend from last week, with the index falling by 47.93 points on Wednesday and 31.50 points on Thursday, reflecting sustained market pessimism.
Out of the companies traded on Sunday, only 16 registered gains, while a staggering 233 saw their share prices decline, underscoring the breadth of the market correction.
According to Nepse, more than 32.26 million shares were traded in 152,518 transactions, amounting to a total turnover of over Rs13.07 billion.
Among the day’s top performers, Trade Tower Ltd and Shiv Shree Hydropower saw their share prices rise by the maximum daily limit of 9.99 percent. Other notable gainers included Three Star Hydropower (+4.55%), Narayani Development Bank (+3.86%), and Lumbini Development Bank (+2.50%).
On the losing side, Sanvi Energy and Samata Gharelu Microfinance plunged by 9.99% and 9.96%, respectively. Green Ventures (-5.77%), Sikles Hydropower (-5.58%), and Unnati Sahakarya Microfinance (-5.52%) also posted notable losses.
In terms of trading volume, Nepal Reinsurance Company led with transactions worth Rs753.9 million, followed by Himalayan Reinsurance (Rs715.5 million), Himalayan Distillery (Rs588.2 million), Shivam Cement (Rs550.2 million), and Ngadi Group Power (Rs425.5 million).
