NEPSE posts slight gain, daily turnover surpasses Rs13 billion
Benchmark index edges up by 2.80 points on Monday as total turnover climbs significantly from previous session.

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a modest gain of 2.80 points on Monday, closing at 2,658.66. The index edged up by just 0.10 percent compared to the previous session, reflecting a day of cautious optimism in the market.
Despite the minor uptick in the benchmark index, the trading volume was notably high, reaching Rs13.18 billion—up from Sunday’s total of Rs11.44 billion. This marked the highest daily turnover in over three and a half months.
According to NEPSE, a total of 33.64 million shares were traded in 105,635 transactions. Market performance was mixed, with the share prices of 124 companies increasing and an equal number declining.
Among the 13 trading subgroups, five saw a decline in their respective indices. Notably, the finance, hydropower, investment, manufacturing & processing, and others categories ended in negative territory. The remaining sectors posted minor gains or remained stable.
