NEPSE drops by 5.57 points, daily turnover surges past Rs5.63 billion
131 companies see declines while 113 gain; total trading volume crosses 11.38 million sharesbookmark

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined by 5.57 points on Thursday, closing at 2,670.70 points. This marks a 0.20 percent drop compared to Wednesday, when the index had climbed by 9.66 points to settle at 2,676.28.
Despite the dip in the index, trading activity increased. A total of 11.38 million shares were traded across 49,632 transactions, pushing the daily turnover to Rs5.63 billion—higher than Wednesday’s turnover of Rs4.48 billion.
Among the companies traded, 113 recorded gains, 131 saw a drop in their share prices, and one remained unchanged.
The mixed performance and increased trading volume indicate cautious investor sentiment heading into the end of the trading week.
