Chinese ambassador, FNCCI president discuss investments in Nepal

The Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chan Song and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry President Chandra Prasad Dhakal held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss ways to increase Chinese investments and tourists in Nepal.
During the meeting, Dhakal said that Nepal could be a key destination for Chinese investments and tourism.
He said that there is an opportunity for the foreign investors to invest in Nepal's production, energy, tourism and infrastructure.
Dhakal also said there is a need for increasing direct flights from different Chinese cities to all three international airports of Nepal for the promotion of tourism.
He requested the ambassador to include Nepal on the list of key destinations for the Chinese nationals.

Dhakal emphasised that the Chinese government should also take initiatives for the effective operation of the Tatopani border point, which has been closed for a long time.
Ambassador Chan said that Chinese investors are eager to invest in Nepal. He said that Nepal should create a congenial investment environment to attract the Chinese investors.
He said the Chinese investors are attracted to the manufacturing industry, agriculture, and energy sectors.
Ambassador Chan presented an example of how China became the main producer in the world due to foreign investments.
Chan also disclosed that discussions have been going on to open the Tatopani border point besides foray by a Chinese bank to Nepal.
