National Banking Institute (NBI), a national level apex banking academy of the country in association with International Finance Corporation (IFC) organised a three-day training event on Corporate Governance Board Leadership.
The event saw participation of nearly two dozen veterans of the banking industry of the country who are now expected to train their respective banks and financial institutions board of director members.
The training was conducted by experts from the US and the UK.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the training, NBI CEO Sanjib Subba said the one of the kind event like this would be fruitful in producing qualified trainers in the country in the long run. “As board members of the bank and financial institutions are usually from diverse backgrounds, training them on corporate governance will be a challenge and it requires special set of skills,” said Subba. “This training is expected to provide such set of skills to the participants.”
