The new trucks were unveiled by Executive Chairman of IME Group Chandra Prasad Dhakal along with Anuj Kathuria, president of global trucks at Ashok Leyland.
Captain series is addressing three key areas—driver comfort, reliability and performance to compete with CVs from competing brands. The Captain series was first launched in 2014 in India and offer various vehicles such as tippers, tractors and haulage vehicles. “Ashok Leyland trucks have always captured a market position as a trustworthy brand. And the new Captain range will definitely live up to the expectation of the customers,” said CEO of IME Motor Kapil Shiwakoti.
The new range from Ashok Leyland is looking to continue its legacy of maintenance friendly CVs. The Captain series of trucks offer multiple features that put it head and shoulders above the rest of the competition. The new CVs have higher fuel efficiency, increased vehicle uptime and faster turnaround which reduces vehicle operating costs.
According to the company, the vehicles have self-diagnostic capability due to its electronic architecture. This is expected to address the growing demand for higher efficiency trucks in Nepal. Other notable highlights seen in the new Captain range of Ashok Leyland CVs is good ergonomics and driver comfort thanks to easy-to-reach controls, a mechanically suspended driver seat with multi-level adjustments, tiltable and telescopic steering column, air-conditioning and a music system, reads a press release.
