Turkish Airlines on Saturday celebrated 4 years of operations in Nepal. The carrier started offering its services in Nepal on September 2, 2013 with four weekly flights between Istanbul and Kathmandu.

It is the only the airline company that connects Nepal directly with Europe.
The Kathmandu-Istanbul route is one of the longest non-stop commercial flight (7 hours) between Nepal and Europe. Nepal and Turkey signed an air service agreement in September 2010. Established in 1933 with a fleet of five aircraft, Star Alliance member Turkish Airlines is a 4-star airline today with a fleet of 328 (passenger and cargo) aircraft flying to 300 destinations worldwide with 251 international and 49 domestic.
According to the 2017 Skytrax survey, Turkish Airlines, has won "Best Airline in Europe" for six consecutive years and "Best Airline in Southern Europe" for nine consecutive years. It won the "Best Economy Class Onboard Catering" award in 2010 and was awarded world's "Best Business Class Onboard Catering" in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017. The carrier was also awarded "World's Best Business Class Lounge" in 2015 and 2017.
