MAW Enterprises, authorised distributor of Yamaha motorcycles and scooters in Nepal, has launched the much awaited FZ25 to its hugely popular FZ Series. The price of the new model is Rs344,900.
The FZ25 is powered by a newly designed 249cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, that is fuel injected and set on a lightweight frame to ensure maximum maneuverability for the rider, reads a press statement.
Yamaha describes the FZ25 as a “powerful, mid-class street fighter” that balances power and milage.
The newly launched model delivers riding enjoyment as well as excellent fuel efficiency and environmental performance and is targeted for biking enthusiasts in their 20s to mid-30s.
Based on a reliable 249 cc single-cylinder engine proven on sport bikes for the Japanese market, the model’s engine has been fine-tuned and optimised for the harsh road conditions of Nepal.
With a maximum power output of 20.9 PS at 8,000 rpm and maximum torque of 20 Nm at 6,000 rpm, the FZ25 also offers an array of new features such as LED headlights , an LCD instrument cluster with a high-quality look evoking a sense of innovation, a mudguard that moves with the swing arm, racing style footpads, making it an irresistible option as the top-end model of the FZ Series, reads the press statement. At the same time, it offers the nimbleness and easy-to-use character for daily use as well as riding excitement in any given situation.
The FZ25 will be available at all authorised Yamaha dealerships in three exciting color schemes — ‘Ballistic Blue’, ‘Warrior White’ and ‘Knight Black’.
“The FZ series has been a successful series since its launch in Nepal in 2008. Introduction of FI technology in this series has resulted in increased performance and mileage. It is performing very well not only in Nepal but in South Asia and established a strong brand in its segment,” said Vishnu Kumar Agarwal, managing director of MAW Enterprises. “Now riders can step up to the higher range model and we are happy to offer an option with more power and more torque for higher pick up along with impressive new features, masculine looks and aggressive style.”
The company said that the bike has a very low maintenance cost. First servicing has to be done at 1,000 km and second servicing has to be done at 5,000km. After that, subsequent servicing has to done every 5,000 km or 180 days.
Another reason for low maintenance is the changing of engine oil, which on the FZ25 needs to be done only once a year unlike other motorcycles from competing brands.
After the free servicing period is over, paid servicing costs only Rs400.
The company is also providing financing service for people who cannot pay the entire amount for the bike at once. For those looking to trade in their old bike, Yamaha has exchange offers on hand.
