Anna Marrs, regional chief executive of Southeast Asia and South Asia and CEO of Commercial & Private Banking of Standard Chartered, has arrived in Nepal on a three-day visit.
This is her first official visit to Nepal. During her stay in the country, Marrs will meet central bank officials, clients and other stakeholders of the bank, says a statement issued by the bank.
Marrs was appointed as Standard Chartered Bank’s regional chief executive of Southeast Asia and South Asia in November 2016. Marrs joined Standard Chartered as group head of strategy and corporate development in January 2012. In her role as the head of strategy, she led reviews of the bank’s businesses globally, with projects focusing on Nigeria, China and India.
In her current role as CEO of Commercial and Private Banking, Marrs has led the restructuring of the bank’s commercial banking business and scaled up private banking and wealth management. She has also championed increased investment in technology and analytics across both businesses.
