Property Expo-2017 will be held at  the Exhibition Hall in Bhrikutimandap from April 7. The four-day expo will be inaugurated by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari.

The event is being organized by Nepal Land and Developers’ Association, Kathmandu Valley Development Authority and Department of Urban Development and Building Construction with help of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Society of Consulting Architectural and Engineering Firms Nepal and Nepal Engineers’ Association among others.

The sixth edition of the expo will have more than 120 stalls, international and domestic. These stalls will feature land developers, producers of building materials, builders of earthquake resistant houses and apartments, architectural consultancies and banks alike. Visitors can get also demonstrations and consultations from companies of pipes, furniture, paints, transport vehicles and decorations during the expo. There will be a platform for launching products for companies associated with housing.

Following the 2015 earthquake, certain sectors of the housing industry have taken a hit, according to the expo co-ordinators. However, they are confident that the information sessions regarding earthquake resistance buildings will promote the housing industry in Nepal.

“The expo will provide useful information regarding earthquake safety, explore current problems and provide sustainable solutions” said the expo co-ordinator, Bipin Chitrakar.

 Various industrialists that have contributed immensely to the Nepal housing and real estate scene will also be present during the expo.

Through interaction with these industrialists, the expo hopes to provide buyers with useful information that will help them in choosing houses that match their budget.

 Ideas about urban development, price determination and stabilizing housing industry will also be explored.

The expo will be the perfect place for the general public to learn about the housing industry, focusing on factors like community developments, security, price comparisons and infrastructure development, according to the expo co-ordinators. The expo also aims to provide information regarding legal, technical and financial consultations to the visitors which will be useful in buying land, houses and apartments.

“We want to make the real estate business stable and simple in the future,” said Chitrakar.

The four-day expo is estimated to attract over 100,000 visitors .

Despite the earthquake, the expo had appreciable turnout in the previous year, according to Chitrakar, which is why he is confident of the expo’s success this year as well.

 On the final day, April 10, the present co-ordinators of the expo will also host a housing summit with the help of engineering and financial organizations.  This summit, Housing Summit-2017 Nepal, will be the first of its kind to be held in Nepal.
